The client

Formed in December 1990, David Ashley Construction Ltd specialise in reinforced concrete structures and associated groundworks. The company operates both locally and nationally, based from their head office in Alfreton.

The problem

David Ashley Construction approached onezo to tackle a list of existing IT related issues which had been on-going for some time and furthermore required a provider who could project manage and deliver a site move, within time and on-budget.

onezo worked with David Ashley Construction to map out all of their IT requirements, from initial site survey to completion.

An aging server, telecoms system and slow internet speed were key areas identified to be replaced/remedied upon occupying their new office space.

The solution

Prior to the site move, onezo built, configured and migrated David Ashley Construction onto a new HPE DL380 G10 server whilst residing at their old premise, improving reliability, speed and allowing for future expansion.

As the new premise was a new build, no power or connectivity was present within the office spaces. onezo began the project by supplying 27U cabinet and worked with third parties from an early stage to map and identify areas requiring connectivity and power, resulting in 5x patch panels totaling 117 network points throughout the three floors.

Following second phase of installation onezo supplied and installed POE switches to ensure power can be delivered to any POE device within the building if seating arrangements ever changed, this also ensured all ports could be live, and also allowing for any additional segregation of the network if required at a later stage. Wireless access points were also provided and situated within the ceiling tiles.

onezo then began the process of deploying a leased line to the premise to ensure speed issues of the past were no concern for the present & future, with this being completed two weeks ahead of schedule we then deployed a firewall with security subscription services to keep the network secure from external threat actors.

A new telecoms solution was then deployed into the business requiring all 10 DDI’s on a multi-line port to be migrated over with a little disruption as possible. This was completed on the day of the site move with no disruption.

onezo migrated all remaining infrastructure from the previous site on an evening prior to go-live day with expectations that access would not possible until later that day. We were able to ensure the site was live and ready within two hours, the day before go live.
