Maxplant

Maxplant established in 2005, provide professional solutions in land reclamation and remediation, site clearances and bulk earthworks.

The client

Maxplant offer a comprehensive and professional service from conception, surveying procedures, the planning application processĀ and successful managementĀ of sites right through to completion.

The problem

Maxplant having gone through substantial growth in recent years, required a partner who could fulfill on providing IT support the business requires now and for the future.

onezo worked with Maxplant to address their immediate IT concerns and provided free consultancy on the back of an IT Support contract, advising on an entire infrastructure refresh.

Maxplant had already agreed to invest in a third party solution to update their quotation, surveying and accounts solutions with integration between them and, realised the existing setup may not cope with the added demand.

The solution

onezo supplied 33 additional cat5e network points as current connectivity was limited to wireless access points providing the entire connectivity within the building. onezo supplied an 18U server cabinet for the terminated patch panel to reside and supplied a new managed HPE POE switch to enable a future transition to a new telephone system in the coming months.

The existing server, not suitable for its future intended use was not being utilized correctly in the meantime. A domain existed without a single workstation being a member, file access was granted by a single user account used across multiple devices therefore security was a key concern to ensure each individual employee was restricted to access information only applicable to them, with their own user account.

onezo installed a new rackmount server configured with a RAID 10 disk configuration with a hot spare ensuring business continuity in the event of a disk failure. The server was installed with VMware ESX providing two Windows 2016 standard servers with roles balanced across them plus allowing the new software to be installed.

The project was completed successfully on time, with no problems encountered.
